December 2005, following 5 months of symptoms and 4 x diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome, Mum finally diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. January 2006, commenced palliative chemotherapy. April 2006, Golden Wedding service and anniversary party at St George's Church, Chichester June 2006, completed 6 courses of chemo, things don't look too bad. It looks like she has bought some extra time with us. Cancer has shrunk away to vitually nothing. August 2006, Mum & Dad holiday in New Forest with Christina and Matthew October 2006, scan shows no significant growth. Fantastic news. November 2006, Mum & Dad holiday in Isle of Wight with Cecelia and Greg Early December 2006, Mum's legs start to swell and she feels unwell. Late December 2006, Cancer has returned; very large tumour causing blockage, hence swollen legs. January 2007, commenced 2nd course of chemo March 2007, Respite Care in St Wilfrid's Hospice for a week. March 2007, suffering from dehydration. Unable to eat and drink, despite persuasion, admitted to hospital for 2 weeks April 2007, readmitted to Hospice on 5th April 2007 clearly fading but still smiling her beautiful smile 6th April 2007, enjoyed visit from Dad's Niece Kerrie, husband Tim and great-nieces and nephew Flo, Stephy and baby George 7th April 2007, 51st Wedding Anniversary, died peacefully at 12.30pm, on a beautiful sunny day. Family devastated. 20th April 2007, Mum is laid to rest in her Golden Wedding outfit. Funeral at St George's Church Chichester. No black clothing, everyone wearing bright colours, church full of flowers, wonderful music, Matthew was crucifer, Bob and Greg gave beautiful readings, a family occasion; the Churchwarden's staff was placed on her coffin in honour of her years as Chcurchwarden at St Geroges; a real celebration of her life. Cremation followed.
