Saturday 13th March 2010. Christina's 50th Birthday - 10th March. We held a 50th Birthday party for the benefit of Ovarian Cancer Action, in memory of Mum and Dad. Guests gave donations instead of personal gifts and the hall was decorated in Ovarian Cancer Action colours with teal and red balloons, table cloths, serviettes, tealights etc. The cake had teal coloured flowers, Christina had teal coloured spots on her dress! Matthew, sang the vocals with ChiJazz, a brilliant local jazz band, for the first two hours and then we exhausted ourselves with a barn dance for two hours. Fantastic fun, 90 good friends, old and new, £630 raised (and rising), plus gift aid! Loads of awareness created about Ovarian Cancer and lots of leaflets were picked up detailing the symptoms. All in all a great success! The following day, Mothering Sunday, we released the balloons for Mum and Dad.
